Pooja Singh is one of the most versatile Indian television actresses who gained fame after performing as Emily Mohit Rathi in the top rated soap, Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus channel.

Pooja was raised in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand where she also studied. Then she moved to Pune after her 10th class to attend college. Her aunt and her mom usually told her that she is a perfect television Bahu. She used to travel around Mumbai and Pune to audition but she was always shortlisted. She will also sign into contracts only to get dropped. Later, she got her break through the Hindi series, on Life OK, where she bagged the role of Poonam, the sister of Apporva Agnihotri. Pooja also appeared in the mythological series, Jai Jai Jai Bajrang Bali on Sahara One and subsequently played as Julie Govardhan Chaturvedi in the popular drama series, ‘Aaj Ki Housewife Hai…Sab Jaanti Hai’ on Zee TV.

Pooja lives by herself in Mumbai. She was born on January 8. Her father is a banker while her mother is a plain housewife. She is a trained belly dancer and she also knows how to dance Kathak and Hip-Hop. Unlike many of the TV stars whose goal is to act in the Bollywood industry, Pooja only loves to make it big in the small screen. She doesn’t want to get into Bollywood; instead, she wants to be in the lead role in a television serial someday.

Pooja is a person who loves to smile and very optimistic. She is very bubbly and full of fun. She is also very adventurous and would love to try bungee jumping and sky diving. She also wants to do a role in any adventurous television shows like the Khatro Ke Khiladi. She would also love to try joining the reality show, if given a chance. Besides acting, Pooja is also an aspiring model.

From The City of Nawabs, Lucknow, Pooja moved to Pune after completing her 10th standard. People around her always thought that she was perfect bahu material as depicted in our saas- bahu serials.

Born to a father in the banking profession and a mother who is a housewife, Pooja, in her early twenties now, is a trained belly dancer. She has also learnt kathak, hip-hop and bollywood dancing. Initially, in her modeling days, Pooja has modeled in saree snap shots for Myntra, Snapdeal and other companies. She has also done concept shoots for wardrobe stylists for western and Indian wear.

Pooja singh got her first break in the serial Aasman Se Aage as Poonam the sister of the male lead Apoorva Agnihotri. This show carried the tagline “The reality behind reality shows” and was aired on Life Ok. It dealt with the life of a talented poor slum girl who gets a chance to dance on a reality show. But due to low TRP’s, the show went off- air in 2 months.

Thereafter, Pooja portrayed a mythological character in Jai Jai Jai Bajrangbali and acted as Julie Govardhan Chaturvedi in Aaj Ki Housewife Hai….Sab Jaanti Hai. The first break she got in movies was (2010). She has signed an upcoming movie Shadyantra.

Pooja has confessed that she is a huge Shahrukh Khan fan. She has also expressed her desire to feature in Bigg Boss someday. She says she has a good sense of style, excellent postures and facial expressions. A positive attitude makes her look forward to a great career.
