Plot

Jaeden Lieberher, is the son of Michael Shannon Michael Corbett Shannon is an actor and a musician >> Read More... , and possesses special gifts. His father, is keen on reaching a particular place at a particular time. Lieberher has to wear protective equipments since he experiences things that we normal humans cannot. Joel Edgarton, the friend of Shannon, accompanies them on their run. They are now followed by the police, who think that Lieberher has been kidnapped , the FBI who are curious to know how the kid has special gifts. There is also a religious group that follows the boy….

Star Performances

Michael Shannon impresses us as the doting father, who however doesn’t understand the special powers of his child. All he knows is to provide true love to his child and protect him. His bond with his onscreen son Jaeden Lieberher is the essence of the film. Jaaden LIeberher does his part well while Kirsten Dunst She’s one the most glamorous actress and garnered >> Read More... and Edgerton also deliver earnest performances.

Analysis

The movie commences with a terrific start, there is no beating about the bush here.Also, the film is crafted in a beautiful manner by Nichols and he deserves a pat on the back.

What’s there?

The tension is mounted with every scene.

Parental concern is beautifully presented in the movie.

Cinematography of Adam Stone deserves special mention. It should be noted that Stones has joined hands with Nichols in all his movies.

The movie has the tone of a Speilberg film, which fortunately, works in favor of it.

The script is up to the mark.

What’s not there?

The second half could have been as engrossing as the first half.

Verdict

Though the movie has its share of flaws it can be forgiven since it is high on keeping us engrossed with its family sentiments and sci-fi element.
