Plot

Kalaiyan is the President of the Soorakkottai Panchayat. He has a younger sister, Thanga Meenatchi, out of town for her higher studies. After Thangam completes her studies and returns home, Kalaiyan searches for a groom to get her married. He plans to celebrate his sister's marriage as a festival. But, his sister faces a huge threat, and how her Annaatthe helps her forms the rest of the plot.

Star Performance

Usually, Superstar movies have all the fun. Rajini's comedy, romance, action, and sentiments are excellent as usual. Apart from all these, his style is the highlight. Keerthy Suresh emotes well. Nayanthara, Khushbu, Meena, Jagapati Babu, Prakash Raj, and others had done what is given to them.

Analysis

Annaatthe released this Diwali with many expectations, not only from the fans' side but in general. Siva didn't bring anything new. As usual, he has mixed the siblings' affection with some masala here and there. The thing is, it is a Rajini movie. Though the comedy scenes are not new, they are impressive only for Superstar. It is nice to see Khushbu and Meena together after so long on the screens. Though they don't have important roles, they fit well in the given roles. Nayanthara appears as a lawyer and romances Rajini. Menaka and Keerthy's wishes were fulfilled after Keerthy shared the screen space with Rajini, and she might have enjoyed it well. The first half has many commercial elements. However, the second half, with heavy action and sentimental scenes, worked well. The most significant plus point in the film is its songs and the BGM. Imman had done a super great job and impressed Rajini fans. Similarly, the visuals by Vetri are fantastic too.

Verdict

Everyone knows that it is a masala film with sentiments and action. Then there is no need to think much about the story. If we keep aside the logical loopholes, it is a super entertainer not only for Superstar fans but for all.
