Californication is an American Comedy Drama Show broadcasted on Showtime. Created by Tom Kapinos, the show had a total of 84 episodes in 7 seasons. He has credi >> Read More... ) who moves to California. He is unable to write his new book, suffering from lack of inspiration and is troubled. His inability to say no to temptations of drinks, women and drugs create problems in his relationship with the love of his life, his long-time girlfriend Karen played by Natascha McElhone and their daughter Becca played by Madeleine Martin.

He makes a lot of mistakes but in the end, takes right decisions for happiness. It also features other main characters and their troubles - Hank’s best friend and agent Charlie Runkle acted by Evan Handler and his wife Marcy played by Pamela Adlon. The seventh season consisting of 12 episodes, starts off with Hank is eager to reunite with Karen, but he finds out about an illegitimate son of his named Levon from a past affair which brings in difficulties.

Adding to this, Hank’s job as a tv series writer has its ups and downs with his co-workers being not friendly, intimacy with the lead actress, rewrite of the script, problems with the lead actor. Levon and Hanks are seen bonding in various ways with Julia(Levon’s mother), Karen and Marcy. Charlie and Marcy are rediscovering their relationship, going through a hard time having money issues, getting various clients, offers and how they handle them.

After all this, he has a flashback of moments spent with Karen and Becca, with happier Charlie and Marcy and everything is put into perspective after he runs into a nun. Becca has announced her wedding which is not taken well by Hanks. He tries to reunite with Karen and Becca, but it keeps getting spoiled by Levon, Julia, Charlie, Marcy and others until the finale wherein Hank makes a choice with Karen as his life partner. 

This show features a lot of intimate scenes and drugs abuse. It has a lot of references towards rock & roll too. This show has been nominated a couple of times and won two Emmy awards and one Golden Globe award. The critics have given a favourable rating to this show which picked up after it’s 4th season.
