23rd National Film Awards Hindi AWARDS on YouTube Channel

Best of Indian Cinema released in the year 1975 is to be praised in the 23rd National Film Awards. This ceremony is organised by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and represented by Directorate of Film Festivals. In this function, an introduction of two new awards is made for the short films category. The awards were Best Newsreel Cameraman and Best News Review. The two new awards welcomed with a Certificate and a Rajat Kamal (Silver Lotus). After few years, the awards for these two were discontinued. It was divided into non-feature and feature films.

Dhirendra Nath Ganguly received Lifetime Achievement Award named as Dadasaheb Phalke Award for Actor and Director. He was acknowledged with a shawl, ₹20,000 and a Swarna Kamal. The feature films were honoured at regional as well as All India level. All India Award received by Chomana Dudi for Best Feature Film in Kannada. Produced by Ashok Kumar who received a Certificate, Rs 40,000 and Swarna Kamal. Directed by B. V. Karanth who received a Certificate, Rs 15,000 and Rajat Kamal. Mausam honoured by Second Best Feature Film in Hindi. Produced by P. Mallikharjuna Rao who was acknowledged by a Certificate, Rs 15,000 and Rajat Kamal. Directed by Gulzar who received a Certificate, ₹10,000 and Rajat Kamal. Tapasya honoured by Best Feature Film with Wholesome Entertainment, Aesthetic Value and Mass Appeal in Hindi. Produced by Rajshri Productions who was acknowledged by a Certificate and Swarna Kamal.

Directed by Anil Ganguly who received a Certificate and Rajat Kamal. Jana Aranya honoured by Best Direction Film in Bengali. Satyajit Ray was acknowledged by a Certificate, ₹20,000 and Rajat Kamal. Apoorva Raagangal received Best Cinematography (Black and White) in Tamil. B. S. Loknath was recognised by a Certificate, ₹5,000 and Rajat Kamal. Muthyala Muggu honoured by Best Cinematography (Color) in Telugu. Ishan Arya received a Certificate, ₹5,000 and Rajat Kamal. M. V. Vasudeva Rao awarded by Best Actor for Chomana Dudi in Kannada. He was acknowledged by a Certificate, ₹10,000 and Rajat Kamal. Sharmila Tagore received Best Actress Award for Mausam in Hindi. She was honoured by a Certificate, ₹10,000 and Rajat Kamal.

Best Male Playback Singer was acknowledged to M. Balamuralikrishna for Hamsageethe in Kannada. He was honoured by a Certificate and Rajat Kamal. Vani Jairam received Best Female Playback Singer for Apoorva Raagangal in Tamil. She was acknowledged by a Certificate and Rajat Kamal. Bhupen Hazarika honoured by Best Music Direction for Chameli Memsaab in Assamese. This movie was recognised by a Certificate, ₹10,000 and Rajat Kamal. K. Shivaram Karanth received Best Story Award for Chomana Dudi in Kannada. Honoured by a Certificate, ₹10,000 and Rajat Kamal. All regional films were awarded. Chameli Memsaab was recognised by Best Feature Film Award in Assamese. Produced by M/s. Seuj Bolechari Santha who was honoured by ₹10,000. Directed by Abdul Majid who was acknowledged by ₹5,000. Palanka received Award for Best Feature Film in Bengali. Produced by M/s. Filmarts, Calcutta, honoured by ₹10,000. Directed by Rajen Tarafdar who was acknowledged by ₹5,000.

Nishant was awarded as Best Feature Film in Hindi. Produced by Freni M. Variava and Mohan J. Bijlani. They received ₹10,000. The movie director Shyam Benegal received ₹5,000. Hamsageethe was honoured for Best Feature Film in Kannada. Producer M/s. Anantha Lakshmi Films received ₹10,000. Director G. V. Iyer acknowledged by ₹5,000. Best Feature Film awarded to Swapnadanam in Malayalam. Producer T. Mohamed Babu honoured by ₹10,000. Director K. G. George received ₹5,000. Samna acknowledged by Best Feature Film in Marathi. Producer Ramdas Phutane received ₹10,000. Director Jabbar Patel was recognised by ₹5,000. Best Feature Film was awarded to Apoorva Raagangal in Tamil. Producer D. Jayalakshmi and G. Vijayalakshmi honoured by ₹10,000. Director K. Balachander received by ₹5,000.

Muthyala Muggu acknowledged by Best Feature Film in Telugu. Producer M. V. L. Narasimha Rao was collected by ₹10,000. Director Bapu was recognised by ₹5,000. Awards for Short Films. Winged Wonderland received Best Information Film (Documentary) in English. Producer and Director Shanti Varma was collected by a Certificate, ₹5,000 and Rajat Kamal. Induced Breeding was awarded as Best Educational / Instructional Film in English. Producer K. K. Kapil honoured by a Certificate, ₹5,000 and Rajat Kamal. Director Suraj Joshi received a Certificate, ₹4,000 and Rajat Kamal. Baster Rhythm Of Progress was recognised by Best Film on Social Documentation in English. Producer and Director Chandrashekhar Nair was acknowledged by a Certificate, ₹5,000 and Rajat Kamal.

Zenith of India was awarded as Best Commercial Promotional Film (Advertisement) in English. Producer M/s. Film Media, Bombay and Director Jyoti G. Thakur honoured by a Certificate and Rajat Kamal. Poems in Pattern received Best Promotional Film (Non-Commercial) in English. Producer and Director Ranabir Ray was acknowledged by a Certificate and Rajat Kamal. Awashesh in Hindi was awarded as Best Experimental Film. Producer, named Film and Television Institute of India honoured by a Certificate, ₹5,000 and Rajat Kamal. Director K .G. Girish received a Certificate, ₹4,000 and Rajat Kamal. 'Business is People' was acknowledged by Best Animation Film in English. Producer M/s. Akbar Films, Bombay received a Certificate, ₹5,000 and Rajat Kamal.

Director Kantilal Rathod was honoured by a Certificate, ₹4,000 and Rajat Kamal. Indian News Review No. 1399 was awarded as Best News Review. N. V. K. Murthy received a Certificate and Rajat Kamal.
