The Wow Awards recognise the best events in experiential marketing and targeted campaigns. Every award given is as a result of people's nomination. The organisation also conducts an annual ceremony to identify the pre-eminent organisations and employees. The intention of Wow awards is to say ‘thank you’ in a formal way to all the service providers for their excellent service and to motivate all the companies for better service in future. The service providers include all areas like government, financial institutions, police forces, hospitals, retail, manufacturing, utilities, and others. It also showcases the innovative, unique and mesmerising ideas to the world. It not only awards the outcome but identifies all the hands behind the success.
The award gives importance to the training, development and practising methods of the companies. Customers can rate different companies throughout the year. 2014 was the 6th year of Wow Award celebration in India. The entries for the award show opened on January 16, 2014, and the first deadline was January 31, 2014. It extended to February 16, 2014. There were 600 entries across 29 categories. WOW had installed everything in the space. The show hosted the enthusiasm of the entertainers, event organisers and marketers. It is the place for celebrating hard work, walk in the memory and reunion. The theme of the 2014 WOW Award function was WOW AND THEN. Brian Tellis, Fountainhead Promotion & Events Pvt Ltd led the show. Kubra and Danish were the anchors for the show.
The event started by highlighting the achievements and significant events from the year 1970 to late 2000s. Luke Kenny, singer, and the actor playing music for pocket size dancers Sumanth and Sonali performed for the year 1970 theme. Yana Gupta and Sumeet Nagdev Dance performance for 1990s year theme, entertainment by Neeti Mohan, pop star singer were based on early 2000, and a performance by stand-up comedian Sorabh Pant for the subject matter of late 2000 put the stage on fire. In between the performances, there were bits of giving away awards. Cineyug group of company won gold for Golden Petals award in the category televised property, DDB Mudramax for Earth Hour in the category co-branded campaign and another gold for Femina made for you in the category contact program.
Impact Communications secured gold to CEAT bike tagging in the categorical small budget on-ground promotion. Encompass Events won 3 gold for Pepsi VIP Box in the category ‘Brand Association with a live platform’, Gillette soldier for women in the category integrated media campaign and on-ground promotion for brand awareness. Gobananas gained two gold for sandstorm in the category new property and sports event. Jagran Solutions won two gold for Arogya Rath in the category rural engagement property and CSR activity program of the year. Madison media collected their gold memento for the project ‘How an unspeakable problem was addressed and solved by Mediker’ in the category rural engagement program. Showtime events won the highest number of gold mementoes.
They won in the category, ‘Brand expression’, ‘Launch Event’, ‘Lifestyle Property’, ‘A new property of the year’ and ‘Stakeholder events of the year’. Percept Live won in the category entertainment event and entertainment property of the year. Wizcraft bagged the award for ‘Business knowledge exchange property (B to B) of the year’. Mr. Alyque Padamsee, theater personality, and filmmaker got the award for lifetime achievement. The outstanding contribution award went to Usha Uthup, the singer. The program concluded by DJ Praveen Nair’s mind blowing performance.
