Chulo Aasmaan was the first-ever reality show of Doordarshan, it came as a big surprise for its audience in 2009. Chulo Aasmaan was a lifetime opportunity for 12 Indian girls who participated in this show. Fair and Lovely- the fairness cream brand brought the first ever reality show on Doordarshan and Endemol produced it for the TV. Girls had to go through an audition process out of which 12 get the chance to fight in the show on the basis of their leadership, dedication and, under pressure working attributes. For the coming 26 episodes, these girls came to Mumbai for the show.

The show aired on every Wednesday at 10 pm. Auditions were held in the major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Dehradun, Kolkata, Bhopal and, Lucknow. These 24 girls have to through a total of 26 episodes, in the first four episodes, they get themselves prepared, get their grooming done. And, then starts their competition through every episode. In the initial three to four episodes, the show eliminates 12 girls and continues with 12 other.

The 12 groomed girls have to complete the series of tasks assigned to them in each episode. The public decides by voting who stays and who leave the show. The tasks are completely based on skills in each girl as an individual. To understand the talent and to run through the series of tasks, they make two teams of girls and separate them equally in the groups. The panel of the judges judged each contestant individually and, also as a team player on the basis of various skills like team playing, determination, leadership qualities, ability to perform under pressure and confidence. First time ever a show like this hit the Indian TV screens where girls pursuing any career options, possessing any talent skills can come and compete.

Although the girls had to work in teams but at the same time, they had to fight individually. The viewers of Doordarshan loved the show and also showed major participation by voting for their favourite contestants. In the end, the winner of the show gets every help by the producer of this show, Endemol to complete her unfulfilled dreams. The girls got a huge platform and a good opportunity to fill their unfulfilled dreams and also showcase their talent on a big Television channel.
