Zindagi TV Channel has pledged to provide the Indian audiences with the best content from various countries. Keeping in mind,  its endeavor, Zindagi TV Channel once again picked up a novel yet innocent story with a female character playing a pivotal role. It is a tale from the other side of the border.

Gohar-e-Nayab is a drama from the country of Pakistan. Originally, it premiered on A-Plus Entertainment Channel, but the makers rechristened it as Gauhar and released its Hindi dubbed version.

The story revolves around a girl named Gauhar. Her mother has passed away, and though her father is alive, he doesn't care about her at all and has abandoned her.

Due to this, she believes she is an orphan. Her maternal uncle gives her a place at his home. He stays there with his wife and his mother. He and his mother love and care for her, but his wife mistreats and taunts her. She never fails to remind her of how big a burden she is in the family. However, unlike other protagonists, she is not the one to take things lying down and gives it back to her aunt.

But in spite of this strong exterior, she yearns for the person who would candidly love her. But destiny has another plan in store for her. She gets a proposal from a handsome young man named Sami. Within days, she gets married to him.

But she gets a rude shock when she comes to know that her marriage to Sami was a plan and not a union for keeps. She comes to know that years ago her father had troubled Sami's family and hence his mother decided to get her son married to her so that she could trouble her and seek her revenge.

What will happen further? Will destiny continue playing with Gauhar's life until she breaks down? Will Gauhar get her true love? The show then chronicles her success and her tribulations from thereon.

Sajjal Ali, who recently made her debut in Bollywood besides stalwart Sridevi in Mom, played the feisty Gauhar while Ahsan Khan essayed the role of Sami. Veteran actress Zaheen Tahira and Sarah Khan also play important characters. The Indian viewers witnessed Gauhar's struggles from December 17, 2014, to January 10, 2015. It managed to impress everyone due to the star cast's stellar performances, and its emotional content and drama.
