Khushi is a simple girl who comes from Lucknow and was raised with good family values. She is the type of girl who believes in love and has a strong faith in God while Arnav is completely opposite with Khushi’s character. He is a rich and conceited businessman who doesn’t believe in God and love. She doesn’t believe in the idea of living in together before marriage and so she made a condition that she will accept Lavanya if she can learn the Indian traditions. Khushi was hired by Anjali to teach Lavanya on how to become a good daughter-in-law. But the latter hated her initially and even called Khushi as Chamkili because of her clothes. Khushi was born being kind and selfless and this helps her grow a special bond with Lavanya, until she learns how to become a good daughter-in-law.

Time passed by, Lavanya learned good values and Nani got impressed with her while Khushi and Arnav are getting closer. They live under the same roof and usually bump with each other. They smile and talk almost every day until they realized that they are both in love with each other, but they are not yet ready to accept it. Instead, Arnav intends to hurt Khushi’s feelings. He even announced his engagement with Lavanya after an intense moment with Khushi which he almost kissed. Lavanya noticed the changes on her relationship with Arnav. Shyam abducted Arnav and Kushi saved him from the kidnappers. Later, the two admitted their feelings towards each other. Shyam was thrown out of the house which Anjali didn’t understand at first. Shyam was jailed when they found out that he is responsible for Anjali’s miscarriage. After so many hindrances and trials that happened along Arnav and Khushi’s way, the two still end up with each other, together with Aarav, their adopted son. ‘Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?’ was dubbed in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam, Bengali and Kannada languages. The show is a sequel to Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, with a new cast and a new plot. This is an unusual love story that revolves around the lives of two individuals, Aastha and Shlok. The serial is an Indian soap opera packed with melodrama.

The show has a backdrop of Pune. Aastha nd Shlok meet under unfavourable circumstances because of which they hate each other. Aastha is a simple, innocent girl who can handle all relations well whereas Shlok is an arrogant who believes that wealth is more important than relations. He hates women including his own mother due to a previous tragic event.

After more such incidents, Aastha realizes her love for Shlok but doesn’t confess. Shlok confesses his love for Aastha and they get married. Much to the surprise of Aastha, Shlok tells her on the first night of their marriage that he doesn’t love her. Shlok’s mother, on the other hand wants Aastha to be an ideal daughter-in-law. She makes her follow insensible rituals.

Aastha’s parents come to know about her dysfunctional marriage. She files for a divorce but the Court gives a 6 months delay. During that period, Aastha realizes that Shlok is a good person by heart but the past events in his life have made him arrogant. Both spend time to understand each other and value their marriage.

Meanwhile, Jyoti is pregnant and Abhay comes to know that she will be giving birth to a girl child. That’s when he tries to kill her but Jyoti escapes from home, only to be found unconscious on the road by Siddharth. Siddharth falls in love with her and convinces his mother too and they ultimately marry.
