“Jaat ki Jugni” is a Hindi language Indian soap opera which will be premier in March 2017 on Sony Tv. The show is loosely based on the film "Anari" that released in 1993 with cast - Telugu fame ‘Venkatesh’ and ‘Karishma Kapoor’. Earlier, the show was titled as "Saajan" and now it is renamed as "Jaat Ki Jugni". It is all about young couple- ‘Munni’ and ‘Bittu’ from two different worlds falling in love against the will of their families. The series is produced by ‘Rashmi Sharma Production House’ and will telecast on weekdays at 7 pm. The shoot of this show is based from “Punjab” and “Haryana”, and the story traces from their life events from childhood, school years and then as adults.

The lead cast ‘Vishal Vashishtha’ was last seen in the serial "Gangaa" and ‘Madirakshi Mundle’ is from "Siya Ke Ram" telecasted on Star Plus. “Roadies XI” fame ‘Raj Kumar Singh’ made his debut as a close friend of lead character ‘Bittu’ (Vishal Vashishtha). Munni is from a well off family, who lost her parents at an early age and is raised in the hands of three strict brothers. Though her brothers raised her well, but they always set a limit on her decisions,and they decide whom she has to meet in her life. Her life is like “a bird in a golden cage” the desire to free-will is longing inside her deeply. ‘Munni’ knows ‘Bittu’ as a charming, smart boy of the village since childhood and is little attracted to him.

As they grow, she gets attracted towards ‘Bittu’ for his care-freeness, unconventional thinking and the way he enjoys life. This makes her fall in love with him. Though she knows that her family will not accept her love, she is hesitant in the beginning as a typical Indian girl. Inspite of all, her heart pumps for him, and she comes to know that she has got something deeply inside for him. “Will they come together against their family wishes?” We have to wait and watch in March, as the Haryani culture drama unfolds. . Further to this, the audience may expect it as a story based on the film, the love affair of ‘Bittu’ and ‘Munni’ comes to knowledge of her brothers. Initially, they start to threaten and manhandle ‘Bittu’ to stay away from their sister, to such an extent that they put his life at risk. It is ‘Bittu's’ mother who always protects and helps him to combat with ‘Munni's’ brothers.

Jaat ki Jugni is a new age Romeo and Juliet drama to be aired on Sony TV, all set to aromatize our dull boring lives with the freshness of romance of Munni and Bittu with a mollification of the family feud. The serial showcases the love story of Munni, played by Madirakshi Mundle who is well applauded for her holy character of Sita in Siya ke Ram and Bittu, played by Vishal Vashishtha who has been bestowed upon with appreciations in serials like Ganga and Ek Veer Ki Ardas…Veera. The show, being shot in Punjab and Haryana, narrates the saga of a Haryanvi couple, who have had feelings for each other since childhood. Munni is a small town girl, overprotected by her three strict brothers who love her selflessly while on the contrary, Bittu is a typical Haryanvi Jatt who loses his heart to the beautiful Munni; they keep on bumping into each other time and again till they realize their immense love for each other.

Their love buds amidst the wrath of the rivalry between Munni’s brothers and Bittu’s family, who do not leave any stone unturned to separate them from each other. The first look of the serial is going gaga amongst the daily soap fanatics and is all prepared to dazzle up the TV screens with the sizzling chemistry between the lead pair. It has been previously observed that love stories with a Haryanviand Punjabi background set in the backdrop of a small village have been well appreciated by the viewers. Be it Ek Veer ki Ardaas…Veera or Na ana is des meri..Laado, such serials have always managed to make their special place in the TRP list. It will be interesting to see if JaatkiJugni can replicate the magic that other such shows have created, while also bringing the freshness of a new 2017 romance. The lead pair of Munni and Bittu will be portrayed by Madirakshi Mundle and Vishal Vashishtha who have left a lasting impact on the small screen audience.

However, it is also noteworthy that Yash Tonk will be making a comeback through this show.
