Kuzey Güney, which gets its name from the lead characters, is a Turkish show which explores the fragile relationship between two brothers. Ece Yörenç and Melek Gençoğlu are the writers. Hilal Saral, Nezaket Çoşkun Sevinç, and Mehmet Ada Öztekin are the directors. Kerem Çatay is the executive producer. The makers shot it extensively at Istanbul, Turkey and Tbilisi, Georgia.

It premiered on Kanal D, a Turkish Channel on September 7, 2011. Since then, it ran for nearly two seasons and swiped a lot of awards in Turkey. Owing to its gripping content and popularity, Zindagi TV Channel dubbed and re-telecasted it in Hindi for the Indian audiences. Besides, Hindi the creators have also released it in the Urdu language.

It showcases the events that happened in the life of Kuzey and Güney, two brothers who are poles apart. While Kuzey is more outgoing, impulsive and daring, Güney is relaxed, cautious and gifted with studies. However, a girl named Cemre manages to capture the attention of the two siblings, who have newly moved into their neighborhood. Both the brothers are oblivious to each other's feelings for her.

Somehow, Güney manages to woo her first. One day, Kuzey sees Güney and Cemre kissing one another, and he feels heartbroken. He keeps mum about it. A few days later, while Güney is driving the car with Kuzey beside him, they get into an accident which ends up killing an innocent person.

For the sake of his brother's reputation and freedom, Kuzey decided to take the blame for the mishap and suffer the punishment. The police catch him and send him to jail for four years. The series then takes a four-year leap. Kuzey returns to his loved ones after completing the penance.

However, he starts to feel that something is fishy and realizes that things had changed from what they were before he went to prison. Will the truth be out? How will Cemre react when she comes to know the exact truth? Moreover, what will happen to Kuzey's feelings towards her? The show explores all this besides the emotional moments as well as the personal upheavals that life Kuzey and Güney face together.

Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ and Buğra Gülsoy take on the roles of Kuzey Tekinoğlu and Güney Tekinoğlu respectively. Öykü Karayel plays their typical love interest Cemre Çayak. The entire star cast managed to impress the viewers with their power-packed performances. Both the seasons consists of forty episodes each. Like all the other shows of Zindagi TV Channel, this too managed to garner good reviews and mullahs.
