Mere Desh Ki Beti is a Hindi television serial of the Indian origin. It was broadcasted on the largest viewed channel of the country Doordarshan. It is the biggest platform in the country to showcase some serial on a social issue and use it as a weapon against the evil forces to push them back to their place. The show was made in the drama genre and received a mixed response from the audience. The story revolves around a bonded laborers family. The wife gives birth to a girl child. The family did not want the child to be captivated in the bonds of labour after its birth and hence gives her to judge Rampratap Singh. He is one of the noble souls in the village and is very influential. He is also in oppose of the concept of Badhua Mazdur and regularly protests against it to keep it suppressed. He swears in the name of God to keep their daughter safe and secure.

He also promises them that he will do anything for their child and will treat her like her own daughter. He sends the girl to school and did everything to make him capable and independent on her feet. Call it luck or her hard work, she passed the exams with a great score and started preparing for UPSC exams. Soon, she clears that exam as well and coincidently becomes the collector of the same area where her real parents were kept captivated in the bonds of Bandhua Mazdur. She gets to about this and starts fighting against this inhuman rule.

She also fights to release her parents from the master's custody. The serial showcases these struggles she faces in pursuing her target. This is the basic concept of the show which the makers have utilized to convert into an entertainment package that keeps the audience occupied in the prime time. The show featured some of the major names in the television industry in the technical department and was very sound in that area due to their brilliant efforts in making the show. It is also one of the major shows that was broadcasted on the channel at its time of initial release.
