Rakhi Sawant was the lead cast of the show and it was a show where Rakhi would choose a groom according to her consent after various episodes. Before creating the show it was announced that in the final episode Rakhi would marry the winner. This show had a completely different concept from other reality shows and it was very creative from the show team members to create such a show. It was announced that anybody can submit his name who wanted to marry Rakhi Sawant.

A huge number of boys applied for the contest but lucky 16 were selected in the show. Males with different professions were selected. Then the 1st episode started. In every episode, 2 people were eliminated. Rakhi Sawant used to be the Judge or the Chooser. She had chosen people whom she got along with well. And In every episode, she eliminated the contestant she thought was not worthy enough to marry her. In the course of the season, 13 contestants were eliminated and 3 were left for the Final Round which was named Faisle Ki Raat or the Day of Judgment. It was decided that Rakhi would marry that day to the winner.

Rakhi ka Swayamwar was a concept which was fully unique. As Rakhi Sawant maintains an expressive personality she decided to choose her groom in the show. The show traced the journey of a girl who was going to be a bride afterwards. The show presented the viewers with the process of the new bride who selected her groom. And the whole nation was involved with the decision of Rakhi. After a lot of thinking, she selected three finalists. On the Day of Judgment Rakhi selected Elesh Parujanwala. Although the show’s premise was she would marry him then and there it broke its premises. Rakhi was not ready for the marriage hence she decided to postpone it for an indefinite time. But she exchanged garlands with him and completed engagement ceremony. After the show, they both did the show Pati Patni aur Woh. In the show, their relation faced downhill and they broke up. After that, a lot of News Channels and Papers pointed their fingers towards the show. Some of the reporters said that it was not a reality show and Rakhi did the show for money whilst Eresh did it for fame. Many of the viewers also questioned the trueness of the show.

Rakhi Sawant played the role of a young bride looking for a groom. Ram Kapoor played the role of an Anchor. Eresh Parujanwala was the winner of the show.

The show was premiered on 29th of June on 2009 and it continued till 2nd August of the same year. The show was broadcasted on NDTV Imagine.
