The Jungle Book is an Indian children animated series dubbed from Japanese animated TV series Jungle Book Shonen Mowgli. The story is based on the lead character Mowgli who gets lost when he was a child in a forest in India. He also loses his parents as they fall of the cliff and die while searching for him. The story takes a head when he joins the family and rose as a wolf. He grows out to be adventurous and fun loving boy. As he grows older he meets humans and starts identifying him with them. The story revolves his struggles to find his identity as a human.

The Jungle Book was premiered in India on the Doordarshan in the month of July year 2003. The serial comprised of 52 episodes. The show was broadcasted on every Sunday. The show was so popular that every child and even elder people across the nation would stick to their seats to watch Mowgli and every house echoed the title song. The Hindi title song of the show was so popular that it became an anthem for every child. The show was re-telecasted in 2004 and 2009 on Indian Television. The series was dubbed in many languages including Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Bengali. The main cast of the show are:

1. Mowgli

Mowgli is the lead character of the series, The Jungle Book. He gets lost in jungle when he was a toddler and lose his biological parents who die while searching him. A wolf raises him along with his kids. He becomes friends with a bear named Baloo, a python named Kaa and a blank panther named Bhagheera. They also teach them the rules of jungle. However, one day he meets human and start relating him with human. He struggles in finding his identity which moves the story forward. Mowgli is a fun loving character who does adventures along with his friends.

2. Shere Khan

Shere Khan is a tiger who is a negative character of the series. With his cruel and cunning behavior he violates the laws of the Jungle like eating the cows and human. Except fear of file he is afraid of nothing. With a desire to eat Mowgli he several times attacks Mowgli. A last fierce battle between Mowgli and Shere Khan Mowgli defeats Shere Khan by attaching with a knife.

3. Bhagheera

Bagheera is a black panther. He is Mowgli’s friend and main teacher in teaching laws of jungle to Mowgli. He has knowledge of human behavior as he spent some of his childhood with an English family.

4. Baloo

Baloo , a fictional animated character of a bear, is one of the Mowgli’s friends and a teacher. The variations of this character can be seen as pilot on TaleSpin and a cub in Jungle Cubs.

5. Kaa

Kaa, one of the Mowgli’s friends, is a python who serves as a teacher and teaches him tricks of fighting.
