It has been produced by Balaji Telefilms in collaboration with Marinating Films. It was aired on Sony Entertainment. It contained eight teams and 150 celebrities as competitors. The teams were Chandigarh Cubs, Delhi Dragons, Rowdy Bangalore, Mumbai Warriors, Kolkata Baabu Moshayes, Jaipur Raj Joshiley, Pune Anmol Ratan and Ahmedabad Express.

In the final, Delhi Dragons defeated the Pune Anmol Ratan and won the title of the winner. The popularity of the first series opened the door for the experiment, and as a result, the second season was played in India as well in San Francisco. The second series of Box Cricket League had been aired on Colors TV in 2016. The show was a hit again, and this time there were about two hundred television, music and film celebrities, competing with each other on the indoor cricket pitch to win the title of BCL champion.

Two more teams were added in the series named, Lucknow Nawab and Chennai Swaggers, from which Chennai Swaggers was Sunny Leone’s team. The second season was quite dramatic on the field as well as off the field due to the celebs’ relationship.
