Captains Shack is an Indian television series. The format of the show is presented a reality show. The telecasting of this series began in the year 2012, on February 17. The series appeared on air at the 07:00 p.m. slot on every Friday in the Indian channel of MTV India. The host and anchor of the show is none other than the famous Nikhil Chinappa. He is a well- known DJ, who has been working with MTV as a popular VJ of theirs since many years. The captain in the show is called Captain Morgan in the show. The format of the show takes in 15 different contestants, who work and compete in the shack.

Captain Morgan is the owner of the shack. And the entire series is mediated by Nikhil Chinappa. The concept begins with the setup where the contestants are supposed to run and manage the shack. And in the process, they are assigned different tasks which challenge their skills and capabilities. All the contestants are subject to tasks that are required to run an establishment like a shack. The tasks usual focus on cooking, serving, managing the crowd, promoting the venture, and so on.

The major task of the entire team of Captain’s Shack’s team was to hold an event as the finale, and upon the success of the same, the winners will be highlighted. All the challenges and tasks in between are to hype the concept and bring in a good crowd and hold the event at the finale. The event was supposed to be a party, which was to be held on the Candolim Beach. The winners of the show are rewarded with an amazing array of benefits. One of the rewards is that the winner gets to be the owner of a brand new shack in Goa.

The second reward is that the winner gets a cash prize. And lastly, the winners get to run a shack which has already been famed and popularized through this show. The eliminations took place in the manner that the least performing contestants were asked to leave. At the very end, there were only six contestants left to conduct the party. Two people among them came out to be the winners of the show, who got all the amazing rewards that they were promised. They are Bobby and Suvidha. Although the show wasn’t such a hit in gaining a lot of popularity, it definitely created a mark, being a very new and unique type of show, in the reality genre.
