The show was criticised due to its content. A PIL or Public Interest Litigation was ensued against the show by the president of Indraprashtha People an NGO. The NGO believed that due to the show, the feelings of the people get hurt, and the show is spreading indecency and trying to decrease the social and moral values of the Indian society. Emotional Atyachaar is based on a US concept where the person who has doubt on his/her partner, can take this loyalty test. The test is done through a sting operation.
