Love Kal Aur Aaj Kal is an early morning television shown on Mastii TV channel. It works on a different concept than other music shows on TV. The show screened on Mastii TV which is an Indian TV Channel which is free to air. It is extremely popular and is among the top music channels in India. The channel is owned by TV Vision. Shri Adhikari Brothers is an Entertainment Conglomerate and owns TV Vision which was started by two brothers in 1985 and was the first Entertainment company in India to go on the Bombay Stock Exchange in 1995. Music shows mostly plays Songs according to listeners’ choice; they call in to request the host to play their song.

The another format of music show is where the host plays latest songs from Bollywood movies and presents a Top 10 list according to their popularity. Love Kal Aur Aaj Kal follows a different format altogether. The show televises songs from the old ages progressing through one generation to another. It starts with the age of fifties when color movies started gaining popularity to sixties when Mughal-e-Azam was released which then went on to become a popular hit and the highest grossing film of the sixties to seventies to the eighties to nineties and finishing with recent songs from upcoming films. The show is televised in the morning from 6 am to 10 am.

The majority of the audience for the show is mostly Senior Citizens who prefer songs from the decades like fifties and sixties as they find older songs with their softer melodies and deep lyrics appealingas compared to newer generation songs which have faster soundtracks coupled with complex lyrics.The show’s effortless transitions from the old age to the newer age songs and ends with recent songs shift to its next show smoothly.
