Avalu is a Kannada daily soap that is broadcasted on Udaya TV. It airs from Monday to Friday at 7:00 pm (IST). The serial is based on the bonding between two sisters. The serial is directed by Nagaraj Uppudha and produced by Gururaj Kulkarni.

Manasa is the middle-class girl who is honest and always stands up for the truth. She would go to any extent for the well-being of her family. For the purpose of her sister Shwetha’s wedding, she marries a rich businessman Madhusudan who is almost twice her age. After Shwetha’s marriage, it is revealed to Manasa that the guy her sister married, Siddharth, is her husband’s son. Ultimately, within the same household, the sisters become mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. Later, Siddharth’s lover Soniya shows up out of nowhere. She makes a cruel plan to punish Siddharth for breaking her heart. Because of her plan, Siddharth goes to jail, and somehow, Manasa is blamed for all this. Shwetha starts developing a hatred for his own sister. Meanwhile, Madhusudan’s sister Mayuri also starts torturing Manasa.

Later, Manasa becomes pregnant and finds out there is a threat to her baby’s life. She gets to know that Apoorva is pregnant because of Mayuri’s son Rahul and makes them marry each other. This upsets Rajeshwari. Manasa gets to know that her baby died in her womb and goes into depression. Rajeshwari influences Shwetha to ask Siddharth for a share in the property from Madhusudan, turning the relationship sour between father and son. Madhusudan finds out that Siddharth is planning to kill the baby. He hides the baby and makes everyone believe that the baby is dead. There are twists and turns in every episode of this series.

This serial packs a very different storyline and concept. It completed 300 episodes and went off-air in October 2018. It is being re-telecasted starting from 14^th April 2020 at 2:00 pm (IST).
