Jodi Hakki is a sweet and refreshing love story which boasts of a unique storyline. The premise of the show begins in Mysuru, which is a small village. A girl named Janaki, who is brought up in a city and is highly educated, shifts to this village with her mother and father. She starts to work as a school teacher in a nearby school. In this village, she meets a boy named Rama. Rama is a wrestler by profession. He is uneducated but is very innocent and lovable. The entire town loves and adores him, especially the children. His family commands enormous respect among the village, and his father owns many acres of fields.

When Rama is not wrestling, he spends his time by doing farming and cultivating crops. He finds it awkward to talk to women and avoids them as his sir has told him that to become a real wrestler you should stay away from women. His mother died when Rama was barely seven or eight years old. His father is proud of him as he is a hard-worker and does not mean any ill for anyone. In contrast, his brother is lazy and spends most of his time in consuming alcohol. His brother is married. His wife is very controlling and dominating. She doesn't do any work and tries to take credit to be in good books of her father-in-law. She manipulates innocent Rama and hence attempts to control the entire household. Due to her scheming nature, she is very unpopular amongst the villagers. A maid helps her in her endeavor. The maid is sent by her father, immediately after her marriage to take care of her.

Rama and Janaki meet each other and sparks fly. They share a very cute bond. Rama tries to help Janaki whenever possible. Eventually, they fall in love and get married. However, Rama's sister-in-law tries to create hurdles in their love story and stop them from getting married as she fears if another lady enters in the family she will lose her dominance and her father-in-law would take away her powers. The show then traces how they enjoy their marital life amidst the difficulties created by Rama's sister-in-law. The makers telecast the show on Zee Kannada Channel, every week from Monday to Saturday at six in the evening. A total of seventy-seven episodes is telecasted, up until now. It commenced on March 13, 2017. A similar program is also currently running in the Marathi language on the Zee Marathi Channel named Tujyat Jeev Rangala
