Kila Kila is a comedy series which came on the channel Udaya TV. The show is a Kannada language one which came on every weekday between Monday and Friday. The main story of the program revolves around a police inspector who goes by the name of Kalayya. He is the epitome of lethargy and doesn’t lift a single finger to do anything. He has made it a habit of getting everything handed over to him by someone else. To this extent, he has enlisted all the constables working under him to adhere to his different whims and fancies. They too listen to whatever gets asked from them so that they don’t upset the man on top. As the story progresses, all these characters get embroiled in different kinds of situations and their hilarious antics get exposed to set things right.

Everyone adds to the fun through their actions and trying to set their own agendas. The constables who got placed in Kalayya’s station add on to humor. They are not much better than their boss and come with their won eccentricities. The entire team thus add a different kind of flavor to this mix to make each episode a laugh riot. The funny incidents vary from episode to episode as they go from one trouble to the next. Udaya TV is among the leading Kannada language channels which get aired on the Indian television network.

Incidentally, it was also the first ever Kannada language satellite channel to launch in India. It is currently a part of the bouquet of channels offered by the Sun Network, which got headquartered in the city of Chennai in the state of Tamil Nadu. Not just India, but Udaya TV got telecasted across international waters as well in other countries. These include Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Canada, Singapore, and the United States of America too apart from India of course. The channel got incorporated on 2nd May 1994. It got launched by Kalanidhi Maran himself.

The channel grew at a high pace and within May 2000, the channel managed to capture nearly 70% of the advertisement expenses made on television within Karnataka. It even went on to receive the award for the best Kannada TV channel presented by the Indian Television Academy in both the years of 2001 and 2002. In November 2006, a consolidation exercise occurred as a part of which Udaya TV got merged with the channel Sun TV alongside Gemini TV.
