The story of Shubhamangala is about village and City cultures. Mahalakshmi is an old lady who lives in the city. She wants her grandson to get married to a girl from village. But her grandson is in love with a Christian girl who is his childhood friend. In the village, her elder daughter Meenakshi who is a school teacher and hailing from an upper caste family loves a person who is from a lower caste. This is opposed by her family. The story of this serial moves around caste factors in our society, the conflicts aroused due to caste factors and mysteries in Mahalaksmi’s life. Shubhamangala is a serial with the elements of melodrama, sentiment, and entertainment.
