Prarthane is a devotional and astrology based show in the Kannada language that airs on the channel, Colors Kannada. Colors Kannada is a regional off-spring of the popular primetime channel, Colors TV owned by Viacom 18. The show, Prathane has had 123 episodes to date. The show has been running since 2015. The first episode was launched on 5th October 2015. Each episode of the show runs for at least 30 minutes and sometimes, extends up to an hour. Prarthane is a spiritual show and also an astrological show.

The show started with visits to the various temples and shrines in the state of Karnataka. The show is hosted by Divya. Divya takes the audience to different temples and famous shrines in the state and gives the audience an inside tour of the place. She also talks about the significance of the place and how the place first came into existence. After a few episodes on these divine locations, the show ventured into the astrological aspect of the format. K N Somayaji was the guest in the show. He has done more than 60 episodes of the show by far. K N Somayaji is s specialist in traditional Vedic astrology and Vaastu Shastra.

In this show, he gives his views on life and the troubles of men and life that occur due to incorrect vaastu at their homes or place of work. He talks about the importance of astrology and how the correct placement of objects and other regular items can affect the placement of our stars in the destiny. He talks about the art of living, the importance of discipline, the importance of values and wisdom in life, the negatives of greed and materialism, the importance of gratitude and other basic lessons of life that we usually ignore in today’s times.
