Asianet Film Awards 1999 Malayalam AWARDS on YouTube Channel

This is an Award ceremony especially for the Malayalam Film industry, which takes places annually under theĀ  Asianet, a Malayalam Television Network from South India. The state where it takes place is Kerela, Malayalam being the regional language, but artists have fans all across the country and based outside of the country too.

The ceremony started in the year 1998, and the year 1999 was the second time ceremony took place because of the outstanding response to the first one. The main cities where the show takes place are Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram city, Kerela.

The ceremony had categories like The Best Feature Film, Director, Actor, Actress, Character Actor, Child Artist, Script Writer, Cinematography, Editor, Music Director, Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress, Villian, Lyricist, and much more.

Coming to the participants who won under these categories: -

The Award for Best Film went to P.V. Gangadharan, for the movie Veendum Chila Veettukaryangal.

The Best Actor Award went to Shyama Prasad for the movie Agnisakshi.

The Best Actress Award went to Manju Warrier Manju Warrier is a South-Indian film actress, born >> Read More... for the movie Kannezhuthi Pottumthottu, Pathram.

Award for the Best Supporting Actor under the male category went to Biju Menon The tall, dark and handsome Biju Menon started his >> Read More... for the movie Kannezhuthi Pottumthottu. Under the same category of female, this awards was won by Praveen for the film Vasantiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njanum.

The award for the Best Script Writer went to Lohithadas for the movie Veendum Chila Veetukaryangal. The Award for the best Cinematographer was received by Vipin Mohan Vipin Mohan is an Indian actor, director, and cine >> Read More... for the movie Veendum Chila Veetukaryangal. For the most tedious job in Post production that is editing, the award went to Sreekar Prasad for the film Olympiyan Anthony Adam.

Under the category of music, the award for the Best Music Director went to Mohan Sithara Mohan Sithara is a Malayalam music composer who ma >> Read More... for Deepasthampam Mahaschariam, and Vasantiyum Lakshmi yum Pinne Njanum. Yusuf Ali Kechery received the award for best lyrics for Deepasthambham Mahascharyam.

Under the category of Best Playback Singer male, the award went to by Jayachandran for Niram and K.S. Chitra for Megham received the award under the female category.

Lastly,Ā  P. Bhaskaran received the Award for the Lifetime Achievement award, who is a lyricist and a Director.

The event in the whole was a grand success and motivated the artists to continue their stellar work. Something needs to be done to praise the work of an artist to prove that there is an audience for whom he/she needs to work., this was done by these awards
