Jayachandran has been nominated for the award of this Year's Best Director for two of his blockbuster series viz. Perumazhakkalam and Mambazhakalam. However, he bagged the prize for his film Perumazhakkalam. Unfortunately, there were no nominations made for the award of this Year's Best Editor and The Best Cinematographer of the Year. T. A. Razak became the Chosen one for the Award of The Best Script Writer of the Year for his film Perumazhakkalam.

The Best Child Artist of the Year went to Master Yash for his calm and cute acting in the screen Kaazhcha. Gopika and Innocent bagged the Award for the Best Supporting Actor- Female of the Year and The Best Supporting Actor - Male of the Year respectively for their excellent support lent by them in the film Vesham. Meera Jasmine grabbed the Award for this Year's Best Female Actor for the second consecutive time but this time for her film Perumazhakkalam. Actor Mammootty won the Award for this Year's Best Male Actor for the second time for his unprecedented cast in the films Kaazhcha and Vesham. Director Kamal was chosen as this Year's Best Director for his excellent film Perumazhakkalam. The Best film of the year was grabbed by Kaazcha, which was co-produced by Noushad Xavy and Manoj Mathew.
