Kolangal is the name of a daily family based drama soap in Malayalam Language which aired on the prime time slot of one of the popular and leading Malayalam entertainment television channel Kairali TV. Kolangal became immensely popular teleserial in a very short span of time due to its good and attractive storyline and strong acting performances from the leading actors. Veteran and ace actors and actresses like-Devayani, Vanitha Krishnachandran Vanitha Krishnachandran is another of Mollywood’s >> Read More... , Chandra Lakshman, etc. were seen playing pivotal roles in this serial. 
The story of Kolangal revolved around a middle class family whose head was Mr. Kandaswamy, a government employee. Kandasamy along with his wife and three children, leads a very happy and content life. A simple government employee who is respected by all. But Kandasamy has a secret, an affair with a woman named Amudha. Even his closest friend Rathnavelu isn't aware of this relationship. Rathnavelu, a reputed transport service owner lives with his wife and three daughters. His eldest daughter is married to Ramki, a very cunning man. Rathnavelu's brother, Durai takes care of his transport business which doesn't go well with Ramki. Ratnavelu and Kandasamy meet once a month to share their happiness, troubles and difficulties. How these two families deals with the ups and downs and changing pattern of their lives and ultimately peace and happiness in their lives constitutes the rest of the plot of the tele
