On asking Ranjith Shankar about the serial, he said that it was inspired from a cover story which was published in one of the leading Newspapers. The news was about a Gujarati kid speaking in a 60 year old lady's voice. He also said that he loved creating every character in the story like, Muthassi, Prof. Karumadom, Lakshmi. He was very particular about not letting Yakshi move around in a white saree singing songs. He made sure that the sets and the look of the whole serial seems real as we witness in our lives.Â
