Swarnamazha was a game show telecasted in Surya TV. Originally started in Sun TV, this was a remake of the same successful game show in the local Malayalam language. The show was anchored by Urvashi, a famous cine actress. The reason why she was chosen as the anchor was to build a beautiful connect with all the spectrum of audience, which was indeed a success factor for the game show. The game show had two teams participating at a time. Unlike the usual game shows were the teams had to wait for the prizes towards the end of the show, Swarnamazha was a show were the rewards were instantaneous. And, the rewards were in gold, hence the name Swarnamazha.
The participants were awarded gold coins for the right answers they say. The theme and the setting of the show are also of special mention. The theme was all gold. The setting was in such a way that the participants had to hunt for the gold in small gold pots. The show had different rounds, including a match the following round which was very interesting.
