Vadakakku Oru Hridayam Malayalam TV SERIALS on Amrita TV
Written By - Team Nettv4u

Vadakakku Oru Hridayam, a story of three women, is aired on Amrita TV. It was one of the best-selling novels written by Padmarajan and was decided to develop it into a mega serial which would be scripted by Ananthapadmanabgan, the son of renowned writer and filmmaker. Directed by K.K. Rajeev, it started on 8 June and was telecast on five days, that is from Monday to Friday at 7 pm.

The movie based on this novel was a super hit. Made in the 1970’s, it only touched some selected and important parts of the novel. Therefore it failed to give total justification to it. The TV version was a great success. It provided the audience with the complete summary of the story of the novel, presented in an audio-visual format, which was served to the audience attractively. It was a complete reflection of the standard vintage, prominence given to that section of the novel that the movie did not cover. The serial portrays the story from Saraswathy's viewpoint which was not a lead character in the film.

The story is a romantic drama genre. It starts with the introduction of the characters, where Aswathy, Saraswathy, and Malini are the three female leads whereas Keshavkutty represents the male protagonist. The story, set in central Travancore, is about three simple women whose life changes when they meet Kesavankutty. Their fate brings them together. The challenges and difficulties they face are depicted in the serial as the story moves forward episode by episode. Aswathy, a girl who is very obedient, humble and passive, is a character played by Jayabharathi. The two other girls are, determined and headstrong Saraswathy and ambitious, aspiring Malini. Padmarajan skilfully depicts life in a realistic way. He describes Kerela, its people and the culture that existed there almost four decades ago.

It reflects the customs and traditions of Kerela, and also the late civilization that existed there. He succeeded in doing so by using a small number of characters and relating them with much-needed perfection. He has addressed different issues faced during that period. Women were not allowed to work, and they were not considered equal to men. Also, there was prominence of child marriage. Thus it has a big hand in developing and influencing the minds of people.
