The plot revolved around finding the parents of Ajay (Siva). Ajay appeared as a dual role in the serial, both named as Siva. Chellamadi Nee Enakku crossed 400 episodes, when telecasted in SunTv. The serial was produced by Abhinaya creations with the cast including Ajay, Gayathripriya, Rajasekar, Vadivukkarasi, Chokkalingam, Banumathi, Abishek, Azhagu, Devipriya and Sridevi in the lead.

Ajay has done dual roles in this serial as Siva. Both Characters were in the same name. The music directors were Satya and Balabharathi and they won the best music directors’ award for this serial from Mylapore Academy of drama awards. Ajay won the award as best actor from the same academy and Abishek bagged the award as an actor for the negative role.

Directed by Sakthivel, Chellamadi Nee Enakku was a hit and it as most of the Tamil serials, had a massive female fan following. The character Meena suffered by amnesia, and by mistake believes that Dr.Siva, as her husband and the turns and twists involved during that was suspense. The title song “Kaanpethellam unnai endral….” was very pleasant and melodious.
