Vanna Kolangal is one of the funniest drama ever on Tamil Television history, which was aired in 2002 for the first time in the Doordharshan Tamil which currently known as Podhigai Channel, the official Tamil Television channel of TamilNadu, India. Vanna Kolangal is the best of Santhana Venkatraman Shekhar’s drama which gave identity as S.Ve. Shekhar all over the Tamil speaking people, S.Ve. Shekhar born on 26 December 1950 who became a renowned actor and director especially for his hilarious Slapstick humors. He started his career when he was just 24 and entered into politics during 2006 joining All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, but have quit the party since 2009.
After he have created 96 Tamil films, he showed up interest and started his Silver Screen Television drama direction, which paved his first masterpiece Vanna Kolangal which ended up as a sensation in Tamil Drama and Television industry as the set of episodes of this drama Vanna Kolangal has aired 8 times in the Doordharshan channel. All his humor in the drama was something unique and different from every other humor style during the early 2000’s, which later has been recognized as a popular drama style and a lot many preceding directors copied his Slapstick style and tried to recreate similar genre of drama. A sample of his scene which is still popular humor around “How do you shoot every bullet right at the center of the Bulls eye”, and his respond would be “It’s very simple, just shoot the bullets first, and then later draw a circle around every bullets”. And still his CDs and DVDs are available in the online market for few hundreds and many people still cherishes the drama with the circulating copies.
