The Sun Singer 3 is a part of a series which is a set of television reality show that revolves around singing. It is an Indian reality show singing competition. The show aired on the channel Sun TV. The show is mostly for kids. The aim is to hunt for kids who have exceptionally well-singing ability and to bring them to light to build a platform for them to develop themselves in future. The show is said to be a reinvented version of an Indian reality TV show by the name Sapthaswarangal. This show was immensely successful. As a result, attempts are made to remake it now and then.

The winner of the third season was to get a series of gifts from sponsors and also a trophy as the winner.

There were nine contestants of the total who were selected to perform in the finals and then compete in the grand finals. The first part of this was carried out on 28th December 2014 and the results of the competition were declared on 4th January 2015 by the Chief Guest, music director G. V. Prakash Kumar. The format of the show involved auditions in various cities of Tamil Nadu which is the first stage in determining the finalist so of each season. Judges either directly select the contestant for participation or keep them under a waitlist until the day’s auditions are over and further decisions are made for rejection or acceptance of the participant. After that final, selections are made and a part of the previous process is repeated. Shreya Jaydeep was the winner of the season in the second part of the grand finale which is announced on 4th January 2015.
