The motto of the second season is 'Thamizhagathin Chellakuralukkana Thedal' which means the search of the sweet voice of Tamil Nadu. The show is very popular among the audience in the southern parts of India. One of the biggest telecommunications company in the country i.e. Bharti Airtel is the main sponsor of the show. The first episode of the season was premiered on the 21st day of month June in the year 2009. It is broadcasted on Star Vijay network. The show managed to get the prime time slot for its telecast.

As the name suggests, the show was for juniors viz. younger children. Children from six to fourteen years of age were auditioned to give them the opportunity to perform on the grand stage. The preliminary auditions for the show were organized at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Trichy, Chennai and other mega cities in the southern states are other names in the list of cities where the auditions were organized. K.S. However, later the cash prize was removed as the winning and the makers decided to give the winner a villa in Anugraha Satellite town which was a township made by one of the sponsors of the show. The show was also associated with many controversies. The first controversy that came into light was when the hist of the show Chinmayi decided to leave the show earlier in the same year. The channel arranged for new hosts, but no one stayed permanently.
