. The serial has been remade in Telugu under the name “Akshanthalu”. It is known for its sentimental title song. Indian serials fairly attract adults and the elderly, mainly the female population. What Indian women love to watch is a lovely family drama. Mettela Savvadi offers it’s viewers exactly that!
It is the story of a land broker and his five daughters. Chidambaram is a widower who has single-handedly raised his five daughters Dhanalakshmi, Saroja, Leelavathi, Vijayalakshmi and Bhavani. He was proud of the beautiful and caring women his daughters have grown to become. He was happy that his daughters got married into respectable households and were happy, when in fact, they hid all the hardships their in-laws were putting them through from their father. His second daughter Saroja had to constantly endure the verbal assaults of her mother-in-law. In the last few episodes of the serial, Chidambaram died, which left his daughters shattered. This soap opera received great love from the audience despite the language in which it got dubbed and remade.
