Super Singer 5 is a Telugu singing contest show that aired on the channel Maa TV. The show has run for many seasons till now the reason being the popularity of the show on account of the content it offers to the audience. Super Singer began its journey in the year 2008 as a television reality singing contest show. In the very first season, the judges of the show were Venkanna and Mano, who are both singers. The panel also had Chandrabose who is a lyricist. The anchor of the show was Saket. After the first season onwards, it is running in the form a singing competition for junior’s, i.e., for those with below 16 years of age.

The aim of Super singer is to find astounding and unexceptional singing talent and make it famous. It tries to bring forward such talent and boost it. Anand Krishnan won the fifth season of the show. Following him was Faridha. However, Rajaganapathy not just won the Judges Choice of the day Award but was also declared as the second runner-up of the show. After going through a lot of competition and numerous phases and adding to that, working hard, the grand finale, at last, took place on the 18th March. Fareedha was a very confident classical singer and the first to reach the finals directly. Rajaganapathy who sings mostly Carnatic won the Most Progressive Singer Award. Siyad excelled in western, folk, as well as classical and declared the Soulful Singer Award. The rising star, Anand, won the Creative Singer Award.

The winner of the Expressive Singer Award was Lakshmi Pradeep who was good in all genres, and her performance was the most consistent. The winner of Super Singer 5 took place depending on the decision of the judges and the votes of the audience.
