“Mad Men” is an American television series. The series consists of seven seasons spanning over 92 episodes. The series began in the year 2007 on 19th July and it finished on 17th of May 2015. The story is set in the 1960s, in New York City. The story revolves around the workers of the advertisement agency “Sterling Cooper” initially, and later “Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce”. The lead of the story is Don Draper played by John Hamm, who is the junior partner in the firm. He has a secretive past which is later revealed as that he has adopted another person’s identity posing himself as dead. He is married to Elizabeth also known as Betty Draper. Over the course of the story Don is presented as a heavy drinker and smoker, and also indulges in continuous extra marital affairs. The other characters who appear throughout the series include Peggy Olson, who started out as Draper’s secretary but ended as a copywriter with her own office.

Pete Campbell is an ambitious accountant who joined the Sterling Cooper firm. Though he and Don are antagonists for some time, they eventually come together to establish a new firm. The other characters include Joan Harris, the office manager who had an affair with Roger Sterling. She is married to Greg. Roger Sterling one of the senior partners of Sterling Cooper and also an old friend of Don. The series has won several Emmy Awards and Golden Globe Awards. Season 6 of Mad Men premiered on April 7, 2013 and it aired its season finale on 23rd June of the same year. It had a total of 13 episodes. By the fifth season Don and his wife are divorced. Don is married to Megan who is his co-worker. Don and Megan have a hard time adjusting due to Don’s detachment from his work. Peggy quits her job and joins a new firm.

Joan is having a hard time adjusting to her status as a single mother. In the finale of the season Peggy has risen quickly in her career, Megan has an acting career and Roger is addicted to drugs. But the next day Don realises his position in her life when Betty and her husband sit together. A new firm known as “Sterling & Partners” is set up. Betty sends her daughter Sally to a boarding school. In the finale, Pete visits his wife for the last time before moving to Los Angeles. Don takes a few months of absence and Peggy takes over his place.
