Chitra Shenoy is now a household name among Malayalam viewers. She plays the role of a greedy, cruel mother in law in the daily soap, Sthreedhanam. Sthreedhanam is telecasted by Asianet television channel and is very popular among lady viewers. The character Sethu Lakshmi is very strong and is safe in the hands of Chitra. Sethu Lakshmi rules of over her husband, three sons, and daughter in laws. She is greedy for money is ready to go till any extent to earn it. She uses her three children as her weapons to amass huge money in the form of dowry from their brides. Sethu Lakshmi is Chitra's first negative character so far. Chitra also won the best negative character award in 2014.

Chitra is a part of the entertainment industry since past 25 years. This talented and beautiful actress has more than 270 films and 3500 serial episodes to her credit. Chitra started her career in Doordarshan and later moved on to the big screen. She is married to a Gurudas Shenoy, a producer at Doordarshan. Born on 3rd June, 1976, Poonam Narula belongs to Mumbai. A talented actress, Poonam attained a B.A. Degree and went on to hone her acting skills by joining the Ashok Kumar Academy where she underwent intense training in acting. Poonam made her debut in the world of television with the Balalji Production “Mano Ya Na Mano”. This was followed by a negative role in Kahiin Kissi Roz. There was no stopping for Poonam. She played the role of a wife to a man already married, in Aashiqui against Arun Govil and in Swabhimaan written by Shobha De and directed by Mahesh Bhatt in 1995. She is also part of the serial Sanskruti.

Prabha played a vital role in Choti Bahu- Sindoor Bin Suhagan which is the story of young girl who is ill- treated all her life because she is adopted. Prabha featured in Kumkum – Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan which dealt with the theme of a healthy relation between husband and wife and the ups and downs of familial bonds.

She portrayed the character Sheela in Swabhimaan opposite Deepak Parashar, aired on DD. She was also part of the first daily soap aired on DD – Itihaas. Thereafter she was on DD for Parampara and Aurat which was a B.R.Chopra production. Neena Gupta cast Prabha in her directorial venture Palchin. She also acted in Zameer aired on Zee TV and Parampara on the same channel.

Her first venture in comedy was 9Gold’s Chonch Ladi Ke Chonch. She was honored by getting the opportunity to be cast against yester year superstar Rajesh Khanna in Ittefaq on Zee TV. She played the character of mother –in- law in Kundali on Star Plus opposite Sai Bilal. Kahani Nahin Jeevan Hai also showcased her talent.

Television aside, Prabha has featured in several movies too. Her first movie role was in Mother 98 opposite Jeetendra directed by Saawan Kumar. Thereafter, she did a role in Subhash Ghai Production Good Boy Bad Boy where she played Emraan Hashmi’s mother. Prabha also bagged a coveted NFDC film – Amrita.

Smita Bansal is the famous face of Indian Television. She has worked both on small screen and big screen. She was born on 21st Feb, 1977 in Jaipur. She got her education from India International School, Jaipur. She is married to Ankush Mohla (director) on 8th Dec, 2000. She is living a happy life with her two daughters and with a lovely husband.

She came to Mumbai in 1997 and started her career as a model. She has worked in many serials and films. Talking about her role in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, she has played the role of Nivedita Kamal Agarwal. This show was aired on Star Plus. It grabbed the attention of domesticated women and it was the 2nd highest viewed show on Indian Television. It won several Indian Telly awards in different categories.

She got famous with the name Sumitra in Balika Vadhu (2008-2014). This soap is aired on Colors. The story portrays the illegal child marriages going on in villages. Smita was playing the role of Jagdish’s mother. This show was also dubbed in Tamil as Mann Vasanai and was aired on Raj TV. Smita has won ITA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role and Indian Telly Awards for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her role in this serial. After working for six long years, she quitted this show because she was exhausted from this show. The show is still going with lots of success.

She has also worked in the soap Sanjivani as Neha on Star Plus. In the serial, she had an affair with Dr Shashank. They both have a son named Karan. She has also worked in CID on Sony TV as Sub Inspector Aditi. She has also participated in Nach Baliye with her spouse on Star Plus and Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi with Saurabh Roy as her partner on Colors.

Considering her role in Amanat, she was the third eldest daughter of Lala Lahori Ram as Dr. Bala. The show was based on the life of an Indian man with his 7 beautiful & dutiful daughters. This daily soap was telecasted on Zee TV.

Benjamin Gilani born on November 20, 1946, is a versatile and noted actor who has acted in theatres, TV serials and both in commercial and parallel cinemas. He was born and raised in Delhi, India. Benjamin Gilani studied English Literature from Delhi University and then went on to become a graduate from Films and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, India in the year 1972. Noted ace Bollywood actors Naseeruddin Shah and Tom Alter were also his batch mates in FTII and in the year 1977 this talented trio opened a theatre company named Motely Productions and also launched a play named Awaiting for Godota. After acting in few theatre for a time Benjamin Gilani started teaching English Literature at St. Stephen’s College, New Delhi. He juggled his career between teaching and acting. Milind Gawali is a popular film actor, producer, and director. He was born on June 16 and studied at Fatima High School in Vidhya Vihar. He also attended Sharda Ashram High School in Dadar and went to Ambedkar College for Commerce. When he was in the second year, he went to Kirti College, Prabhadevi and attended Lala Lajpat Rai College of Commerce in Worli before he took post graduation at The University of Mumbai.
