Srimathi Karnataka is aired on Zee Kannada. This is one of their unique concepts to be aired on the channel. In real life, we fail to recognize the hard work housewives do. We underestimate them and don't appreciate them enough. To remove these drawbacks, Zee Kannada has brought a show called Srimathi Karnataka. The show was a hunt for a perfect housewife, who is an expert in everything related to homemaking. The show was aired in 2007.

At first, names were asked for these housewives to submit. Over 600 contestants submit their names from all the states. Twenty contestants were chosen from these 600 housewives. The show chose these contestants based on their cooking skills, time management, resource management, and other things. It also tested their makeover skills, beauty skills, and humor.

These 20 women went through different competitions and some were eliminated at the end of the episode. By the process of elimination, only eight women made it to the grand event of the finale. They were from Mangalore, Hubli, Mysore, Bangalore. They went through different competitions, including Ramp walking, question and answer rounds and other things. Top 5 contestants were chosen from these eight finalists. These five people had to compete with their husbands. They did dance performances and other sorts of things to entertain the audience.

The show was judged by some of the prominent celebrities named Dr.Vijayamma, Smt. Sudha Prakash Bio coming soon... >> Read More... , Mr.Pradeep Belawadi, Mr.Om Sai Prakash and Smt.Shruthi. They all scored these women based on their performances, and then they chose a winner. The show was filled with entertainment. At the end of these five women, one ultimate winner was chosen, and she won the title Srimathi Karnataka with the gold worth 2 lakh. Smt.Shantha Venkatesh won the show with her skills and knowledge. The first runner-up was Smt.Savitha Madhu. She won the gold worth 1 lakh, and the second runner up won the prize of Rs 50000 cash.

In the show, there were four other categories chosen by the viewers; these four categories chose four different women as the winner of the show. It ended on a happy note, with everyone winning what they deserved.
