The serial shifts us back to the days when women’s sole responsibility was to take care of their husbands and families. They didn’t have a chance to choose their preferred career. They have to do all the household chores. Education was an imaginable dream for women in those days. The women are raised with a sole motive to get them married to someone. Since dowry and the women moving into her husband’s home were most common, they were often treated as a burden in their lives. Here, a middle-class woman gives birth to a girl child in a village where the birth of a girl child was treated as a misfortune. Though the child’s father was supportive of her, he couldn’t go against the customs of his community. The girl child named Mano faces many hardships in her life.
Her grandmother, who wished his son had a boy child, didn’t accept her with welcoming hands. Mano has had a yearning for education since her young days. As her father was a teacher, she developed a natural longing for education. But she was neglected education in the name of her gender. Mano’s family got her married to a man later. She becomes sick in her in-law’s house. Instead of taking care of her, they send her back to her parents. That’s where her father realizes her love for education. He decides to get her education amidst the opposition of the people around him. Will Mano get to live her dream? Will the people change? Well, they become the twist and turns in this serial.
