Thamizhum Saraswathiyum is a Tamil soap opera airing from 12^th July 2021 on Star Vijay. The story revolves around Tamizharasu and Saraswathi. Tamizharasu, fondly called Tamil, is a rich, tenth dropout who discarded his education due to his family's financial crisis. His family consists of his mother, named Kothai, and father, named Nataranjan, the founders of the Kothai Industries, now managed by Tamil, and his younger brother Karthik. His sister Ragini is currently pursuing a degree of MBBS. Abitha, who is a maid in their house, is considered a member of their family by Kothai. An orphan who happens to be Tamil’s friend, Namachivayam also lives with them.

Kothai is determined to look for an educated bride for Tamil. On the other hand, Saraswathi is a middle-class girl who lacks in her studies. Her father Chokkalingam is a principal in a school and hates Saraswathi for her failing her grade 12 for eight consecutive times. Her mother, Vasuki, is a teacher who always tries to pacify her. Her brother, Arun and younger sister Kavya, are both pursuing B.Tech, while Kavya tries to teach her, and her brother hates her for her studies.

A disheartened Tamil, after a rejected marriage proposal, decides to visit the temple where, unbeknownst to him, Saraswathi pranks him by saying that he will meet a girl thrice in the rain and marry her. After this, a happy Tamil returns and retells the incident to Namachivayam, who doesn’t believe him and they decide to visit the temple again. It is here that he meets Saraswathi and it starts raining.

The story continues by introducing Chandrakala, a former collector of Tamil Nadu, and the father of Vasundhara and Aditya. Kothai’s younger son Karthikeyan falls in love with Vasundhara and decides to get married. However, Kothai declines the marriage sensing a fearless and demanding attitude. Vasundhara risks her life upon the failure of the marriage and the marriage gradually gets accepted.

On the other hand, Saraswathi gets caught while cheating in the exams which leads to her father disowning her and Tamil comes to her rescue. He talks with her father and tries to make him understand but in vain. Tamil gradually gets engaged to a woman named Suhasini, as per the decision made by Kothai. It is at this point that he realizes his love and adoration for Saraswathi. The serial comes under the genre of drama. S. Kumaran is the director of the serial. Suhasini called off the wedding as she had a problem with the groom’s educational qualification. One day, when Kodhai faints on the ground, Sarawathi saves her life. This incident creates a soft spot for Saraswathi in Kodhai’s heart. Thamizh confesses his love for Sarwaswathi to Chokkalingam. Chokkalingam arranges the marriage proposal for Saraswathi’s family. Saraswathi lies to Thamizh about her educational qualifications. Their marriage gets fixed, but Chandrakala and Geetha try to destroy the marriage. Geetha learns the truth about Saraswathi’s educational background, but she meets with an accident. Due to the accident, Geetha lost her ability to speak. As soon as she regained her voice, she told the truth to everyone. Saraswathi decides to complete her education. Thamizh and Saraswathi and Vasundhara and Karthik go on honeymoon. After their return, Vasundhara announces her pregnancy. The family plans a party to celebrate the good news.   

Thamizh and Saraswathi face turbulence in their relationship due to the interference of Geetha and Chandrakala. Madhu gets trapped in a dangerous situation, and Thamizh helps her. Later, Madhu claims to carry Thamizh’s child in her womb. Saraswathi proves the innocence of Thamizh. Ragini, the sister of Thamizh, falls in love with Aadhi, but he rejects her proposal. Arjun, Karthik’s colleague, helps Ragini to get over the past. They eventually fall in love. Later, it turns out that Arjun married Ragini for revenge. Saraswathi tries to expose Arjun but fails. Geetha and Thamizh expose Chandrakala. Kodhai resigns from the company position. Arjun stabs himself and blames it on Thamizh. Thamizh and Saraswati leave the mansion and shift with Namachi. Secretly, Saraswati starts working in a mechanic shop.  After some time, Thamizh learns about the secret work of Saraswathi and gets mad at her. Vasundhara falls from the stairs, and Saraswathi comes to her rescue. Later, Vasundhara gives birth and reunites with Chandrakala. Arjun deceitfully transfers the property in Ragini’s name. Ragini orders the family members to leave the house immediately. Ragini and Arjun celebrate their victory. Ragini transfers the property to Arjun. Thamizh settles the family in a new home. Arjun tries to kill Thamizh, and Ragini comes to save the situation. Ragini undergoes labor pain, and Thamizh helps her. Ragini gives birth to the baby. Arjun and Ragini apologize for their mistake.
