Mudhalvan Awards 2016 is a television award show that aired on Raj TV. It is organized to honor and felicitate the district toppers of the 10th and 12th standard board examinations from Tamil Nadu. The awards ceremony was held on July 30, 2016, at the Image Auditorium in MRC Nagar, Raja Annamalaipuram, Chennai. The Mudhalvan Awards are part of Raj TV's corporate social responsibility initiative aimed at promoting education and encouraging academic excellence among students excelling in their board exams. The channel instituted these awards in 1999 to recognize and appreciate the top-scoring students from districts across Tamil Nadu.
During the event, the district toppers, along with their parents, were brought to Chennai and awarded the Mudhalvan Medal in the presence of eminent personalities from various walks of life. Cultural and musical performances are also shown along. The chief guest at the Mudhalvan Awards 2016 was Shri. Pon. Radhakrishnan (Hon'ble Minister of State for Shipping, Highways and Road Transport), Actor Jayam Ravi, Directors Samuthirakani and Mysskin, and Actress Sangeetha.
