The TV serial showcases the difficulties in the life of village women through the eyes of Heer. Heer is a young, independent girl who wishes to change the fate of other women in the village and not remain stuck in a never-ending life of abuse and inferiority. She opened a handicraft center with the help of an NGO worker, Gettie Aara. With great enthusiasm and hard work, the centre has become a success as more and more women become financially independent.  But men with patriarchal mindsets revolt against Heer and her efforts.

They make her life miserable in the village, and soon, she has to leave the village and her lover Ibrahim, behind and move on.  Now the story deals with the challenges faced by Heer while trying to adjust to city life. Meanwhile Ibrahim is married off to Naureen, the news of which breaks Heer completely. How does she deal with the heartbreak? Does she try again to empower the village women? The rest of the story deals with that.
