The story starts with Hera. She is a hard-working young girl who works in an advertising company. She lives with her mother, and her father passed away long back. Before passing, he had taken a loan from his wealthy friend. After he passed, Hera tried to collect enough money to return the loan. The wealthy friend has also passed away, but Hera, being a responsible daughter, does not want to owe anyone anything. She meets her father’s friend’s son, Umar, to return the money. Umar falls in love with her at first sight. Her honesty and sense of responsibility had impressed him. Umar wants to marry her. But Maria, Umar’s cousin, is obsessed with him. She had wanted to marry him ever since they were kids.

Maria is furious at Umar for choosing Hera and not her. Hera and Umar get married and are happy at the bliss of their newfound love. But Maria and her mother scheme against Hera. They try to create misunderstandings between Hera and Umar to distance them. They also try to instigate Hera’s mother-in-law against Hera. Hera had a cousin who liked her and wanted to marry her, but she did not like him, so refused to marry him. Maria discovers this and uses Hera’s past to create suspicion in Umar’s mind, and plants fake evidence. Umar believes everything that Maria says and throws Hera out of his home. Hera tries to prove her innocence but fails. Hera starts living at her mother’s house. Since Hera and Umar have a boy, Anas, they try to keep Anas individually.

Umar marries Maria, after feeling the need to have a mother for Anas. But Maria despises Anas. She tortures and scares him. It creates a change in Anas’ personality. Anas becomes an indisciplined and aggressive child. Maria also gets pregnant but dislikes that Umar is still spending time with Anas and not with her. She tries to instigate Umar to keep Anas at Hera’s home. Hera’s boss likes her and wants to marry her. Hera also wants to go forward with this relationship, but not at the cost of her son. Maria has a miscarriage, and her mother feels this is a punishment from God because she has destroyed Hera’s relationship.

Finally, Umar discovers the truth and throws Maria out of his home. He realizes his mistake and wants to make up for it. He apologizes to Hera and asks her to come back to him. But Hera is determined to marry her boss as Anas likes him too. Hera’s boss plans to shift to London with Hera and her son. But Hera is not ready for such a big chance as Anas has to stay far from his father. Hera refuses the marriage. But she plans to live a life of single motherhood with Anas and not go back to Umar. Umar is happy that Hera did not shift to London as now he can be near his son.
