A still photographer or unit still photographer is the one, who is in charge of creating the film stills, to be used in marketing or publicity of the feature films in the network TV productions and motion picture industry. Aside from working in the film stills, a still photographer is also responsible in providing the day-to-day filming process by making set stills. He or she should record details about the wardrobe of the cast, background, and the appearance of the set, which will be reviewed by the director and assistants for the progression and matching of the entire aspects of the stage.
Still photographers normally work on set and record the scenes from the film. He or she should manage the photographic scenes during the production stage of the TV show or film. They work on a freelance basis and usually hired by the PR firm, producer, or the film sales agent.
