Bidyut Kotoky is an Indian film director and screenwriter who was born in Assam. Bidyut Kotoky has worked for the Assamese film industry. Bidyut Kotoky has studied at Cotton Collegiate High School in Guwahati, Assam, and B. Borooah College in Guwahati. He earned a postgraduate diploma in mass communication and media studies at the Symbiosis Institute, Pune. He has done a master's in economics at S.P. College, Pune. He is known for his notable work in several films like Rainbow Fields (2018), Ekhon Nedekha Nodir Xhipare (2012), and XhoixObote Dhemalite (2017).
He has also conducted masterclasses on editing. Additionally, he has worked as a proprietor at Dhruv Creation Productions and worked in several organizations like CEO, Red River and Blue Hills Private Limited, Surabhi Foundations, Soft Focus Telefilms, and Cinema Vision India. He has won the National Film Award for the Special Jury Award.
