Dwiban Baruah was an Assamese singer born in 1945 in Guwhati, to parents Chandra Nath Barua and Jun Prabha Barua. He was a cricketer in the initial phase of his life and was an all-rounder in both bowling and batting. He has represented his team as a caption at national level tournaments. His older brother Brojen proposed him to sing for a movie Dr. Bezbarua in 1968, and since then, he has sung the highest number of 50 Assamese songs. He gave so many musical hits in movies like Moina Kun Bidhatai Xajile, Junali Jodi Tumi, Aranya, Lolita, Iman Morom Kiyo Lage, Mon Aru Morom, Mukuta, and etc.
