Asaduzzaman Noor is a Bangladeshi actor, politician, and activist. He was born on 31 October 1946 in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. His father was Abu Nazem Mohammad Ali and his mother was Amina. Both of them were school teachers. He studied at Nilphamari College, Carmichael College, and the University of Dhaka. He is married to Shaheen Akhter, a professor of pediatric neurology at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University and the director of the Institute of Paediatric Neurodisorder and Autism (IPNA). Together they have a son, Shudeepto, and a daughter, Shuprova. He began acting in the theatre.

In 1973, he joined the theatre group “Nagorik”. At first, he worked behind the stage as a prompter. He acted in Rashid Haider’s drama “Toilo Shonkot” and that began his career as an actor. His first television drama “Rang-er Phanush” was directed by Abdullah al Mamun in 1974. He got his breakthrough in acting during his early days and has worked in many television shows and films since then.

He has been a Jatiya Sangsad member from the Nilphamari-2 constituency since 2001 and served as the Cultural Affairs Minister during 2014-2019. Talking about his awards, he has won the Shahid Munier Chowdhury Award in 2006, the Syed Badruddin Hossain Memorial Award in 2015, the World Theatre Day Award in 2015, and the Independence Day Award in 2018.
