Amjad Hossain was a Bangladeshi Movie Director, Entertainer, Scriptwriter, and Lyricist. Hossain was born on 14 August 1942 in Jamalpur, British India. Hossain first appeared in the film Tomar Amar (1961). He debuted as a director in the film Agun Niye Khela (1967). It was co-directed by Nurul Haque Bachchu. Amjad Hossain won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Director two times, for the movies Golapi Ekhon Traine (1978) and Bhat De (1984). He won the Bangla Academy Literary Award in 2004 and Ekushey Padak in 1992.
Hossain had two children, Sajjad Hossain Dodul and Sohel Arman. Sohel was married to actress
