Bappaditya Bandopadhyay, also known as Bappaditya Banerjee, was a well-known Indian director. He was also known for writing poetry. His date of birth is 28th of August, year 1970. His place of birth is Kolkata, India.Bappaditya has gained his education from the University of Calcutta, Asutosh College. Bappaditya stepped into this industry with “Sampradan,” which was his first feature film. This film is a masterpiece and is very artistic. “Sampradan” has bagged many titles.

The Bengal Film Journalist’s Association had awarded the Best Female Playback singer, the Best Supporting Actor (Male), and the Best Supporting Actor (Female) from this movie. His name is amongst the most prominent Indian directors. In the year 2003, he was the legatee of the title “Most Promising Director of The Year.” He received this title from BFJA. This film was also featured in the ‘sixth Dhaka International Film Festival’ in the year 2000.

His film Silpantar got featured at the Sofia International Film Festival, in Bulgaria and Helsinki International Film Festival, in the year 2003. Devaki is Bappaditya’s third feature film which got selected and featured in seventh Osian’sCinefan Film Festival. He expressed his love for poetry by featuring his works like ‘Pokader Atmiyasajan.’

He also made by a documentary that got featured in the national television channel Door darshan. The documentary shows aspects of tribal life. He was a gem and legend who died at a very young age. He died on the 7thof November in the year 2015. He left us at the age of forty-five years.

The reason for his death is said to be a massive Cardiac arrest and that he ailed with the multiple organ failure. But he eventually succumbed to death. He spent the last few moments of his life in the Calicut Medical Hospital. He will always get remembered amongst the most prominent individuals who contributed significantly to the industry.
