Achintya Kumar Sengupta is an Indian story writer from Bengal. He debuted in the entertainment industry in 1958 with the film Indrani. As a story writer, his first success was Director Santi P. Choudhury‘s 1963 drama titled Dakather Hatey Bulu. Next year he story for producer Iva Bandyopadhyay’s film Birieswar Vivekananda. In 1966, he wrote dialogues for director Piyush Bose’s film Subhas Chandra. He is also known for writing successful films like Sambandh Pratham Kadam Phool and Shanginee. All his films have been in the Bengali language. He had been honored with the Jagattarini Award and the Saratchandra Smriti Award.
